It is with great pleasure and pride that I welcome you to the Canterbury Tamil Society (CTS)!

As the President of CTS, I am honored to lead this vibrant and dynamic community organization that has been serving the needs of Tamils in the Canterbury region since 1995. Our society was founded on the principles of unity, cultural preservation, and community service, and these values continue to guide us in everything we do.

Throughout the year, CTS organizes a variety of events and activities aimed at bringing our community together, celebrating our rich Tamil heritage, and creating memorable experiences for all. From educational workshops to festive celebrations, there is always something exciting happening at CTS.

One of the highlights of our annual calendar is the Thaipongal Function, where we come together to honor the harvest festival and express gratitude for the blessings of the past year. This joyous occasion is a time for families and friends to gather, share delicious food, and enjoy traditional music and dance.

In addition to the Thaipongal Function, we also organize several other cultural and social events throughout the year, including our Annual Meeting, Tamil New Year Celebration, Navarathiri Function, Theepavali Festival, Remembrance Day, Christmas Picnic, and Annual Sports Meet. These events provide opportunities for our members to connect, learn, and celebrate together, strengthening the bonds of our community.

As we continue our journey forward, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for CTS. Together, let us work towards our shared goals of promoting Tamil language and culture, fostering unity and friendship, and serving the needs of our community.
