Canterbury Tamil Society Annual General Meeting 2021– Meeting MinutesC
anterbury Tamil Society Annual General Meeting for the year 2021/2022 was held on Sunday at 5.30pm on 14th of March 2021 at Riccarton Baptist Church, 80 Rattray Street, Riccarton, Christchurch.
The annual report for the year 2020/2021 was presented by Mr Venkataraman Govindharaju, Secretary of CTS for the year 2020/2021. Its adoption was proposed by Mr. Sivakumaran Sanmugam and seconded by Mr Surendran Sivalingam.
Mr. Siva Thirumal, Treasurer of CTS for the year 2020/2021, presented the Treasurer’s Report. Its adoption was proposed by Mrs. Logina Sivakumaran and seconded by Mr Anthony Veeraraghavan.
At the AGM, the following members were elected into the executive committee for the year 2021/2022:
President: Mr. Venkataraman Govindharaju
Proposed by: Mr.Thayakaran Sandirasegary
Seconded by: Mrs. Logina Sivakumaran
Vice-president: Mr. Anthony Veeraraghavan
Proposed by: Mr. Siva Thirumal
Seconded by: Mr. Umashanthan Balendranathan
Secretary: Mr. Sivakumaran Sanmugam
Proposed by: Mrs. Thanuja Thayakaran
Seconded by: Mrs. Dushika Nivethanan
Treasurer: Mr. Sujeevkanth Sabapathy
Proposed by: Mr. Gnanasuhathipan Sivasubramaniam
Seconded by: Mr. Surendran Sivalingam
A general discussion was taken place between the new executive committee and other members. One of points made was regarding punctuality, and comment made by the new committee to start functions on time. We need members help to achieve this, please be there 15 minutes before functions start.
The new committee would like to thank the previous committee for their valuable contribution and asks the members to continue their cooperation & support to keep OUR CTS functioning seamlessly.
