Established in 1995, the Canterbury Tamil Society is a vibrant and inclusive community organization dedicated to serving the needs of Tamils residing in the Canterbury region of New Zealand. Our society was founded by a group of forward-thinking individuals who recognized the importance of formal representation and community support for Tamil residents in this area.

At CTS, our mission is twofold: to foster a strong sense of unity and belonging among Tamils in Canterbury, and to actively promote and preserve Tamil language, culture, and traditions.
